Butter My Beans

Butter Beans. Isn't that the cutest name for a bath product? I think so. Butter Beans are moisturizing bath fizzies made by Vintage Body Spa shaped like large beans.

I'm a bath person so I'm always looking for good bath products. I can't use bubble bath cause it causes me problems (don't even think about asking me!)..so I tend to go for bath salts, bath fizzies and tub truffles. Tub truffles, I like but they tend to leave me and my tub feeling greasy. I love bath bombs/fizzies but never really feel moisturized coming out of the tub (plus some have way too much coloring and it can be disturbing to have bright red water ya know!).

Enter the aforementioned Butter Beans. These are a neat combination of the tub truffle and the bath fizzie. The sodium bicarbonate gives you the fizz and the cocoa butter gives you the truffle part. No excess coloring, no oil slick in the tub, but soft skin coming out.

You need about 3-4 of these in the bath once the tub is about 1/4 - 1/3 full. The fizz out at the usual bath fizzie rate. Since they are smaller than the average bath bomb, they are supposed to fizz out sooner.

The scent I got is Vanilla Chai. It's just right..not to light and not chokingly overscented. ...you know what I mean. And, it's true to it's name. What I expect Vanilla Chai to smell like, that's what my Butter Beans smell like.

I've used these for 3 baths now and I still have half of the jar left. $14 at Vintage Body Spa, which has so much more to offer beside my lil butta beans!

Happy Birthday Products

I've been totally busy with both kids home on Spring Break that I forgot that March 17th was the 1 year anniversary of the beginning of Products of the Day!

I'm currently testing out some new products and I'll have some new reviews up soon. I know it's been awhile but PTO Presidential stuff got in the way.

Something Somewhere for Everybody

Jewelry is always a very personal choice. In my travels across the net, I've usually found something I like in just about every online Indie jewelry site. Whether it's earrings on one site or pendants on another..there's something somewhere for everybody. Here's some of my recent discoveries that I wouldn't mind having for myself (ahem..my birthday is coming and if any of my teachers are reading..so it volunteer appreciation week :-) )

Silver Dot Jewelry on Etsy is soo lucky..Judy Kaplan, the artist at Silver Dot was just recently featured on Good Morning America. I doubt that I can give her as good as publicity as GMA, but I can try. If you want to see the video, here's the link:

It features several of her pieces..but you won't see the same ones here on my blog. I want to show you some of my favorites from her site.

This necklace features Amethyst (one of my favorite stones) and Smokey Quartz briolettes on a Sterling Silver Chain. I've been becoming fond of the briolette stones and I like the trio of stones. $28.50 is all this one costs. I like how the purple of the Amethyst plays off against the darkness of that Smokey Quartz.

The other piece that I like from Judy's site is this pair of Rose Gold Vermeil earrings with the Smokey Quartz stones.

The pink of the rose gold vermeil is striking against the quartz. Alas, these are reserved for a specific buyer so you can't buy them for me. $17.50 for these lil beauties.

Don't forget, we have our own special code at Silver Dot. Check out the new Coupon Code section in the right hand sidebar. Thanks Judy!

Another Etsy store that caught my eye recently is Kimberly Monaco Designs. I periodically peruse the forums, especially the Promotions forum. Every Saturday evening there are the Saturday Night Specials. And this Man in the Moon Necklace was pictured and I just love it. It's simple yet it just makes a statement.

Just $28!

Another piece I found via perusing the Etsy forums is this glass pendant (limited edition) from Laura at Talisman. There was a post on the forum that she was having a sale because of the evil insurance companies (regarding her daughter) and I wanted to help out. I'm like you though, I can't afford to buy too much at one time..but I really liked her work and the "LOVE" series. I've gotton so many compliments from my teacher friends over at my school. I bought this one on sale so I cannot guarantee you will find one like this at the same price. She was just at a craft show recently so alot of listings were pulled so she could bring them to the show. I'm just fascinated by her work. The uniques melding of colors in the glass is just beautiful. The photo really doesn't do it justice.

The one thing I can recommend is that you do a search thru the jewelry categories at Etsy. You can basically find anything and everything there. I love the unique designs that I find there. If I was only rich!!!!

Thank You My Indie Friends!

Last night was my PTO's second and last Bingo Night of the year. Yes, I'm thankful that it is all done and that everything went great. I need to thank alot of my Indie Etailer friends that donated some wonderful pieces of their work as prizes for our Bingo Night. I truly appreciate their generosity and just want to give them a what they deserve, a huge THANKS!

Pam over at Women for Hope, sent me a beautiful Breast Cancer Awareness Bracelet (like the one seen here). Now, this site holds a special place in my heart as I lost my Mom to breast cancer back in 1994. They donate at least 10% of the proceeds to the charities they work with. Women for Hope has a great variety of wonderful items and remember, it is for a good cause. Not just breast cancer but for a huge amount of things. Go and check them out!

Alyssa at Vintage Body Spa also donated to my Bingo Night. She sent me so much including 3 Wake Up sugar scrubs, lotion, lip balm and more. Someone won the huge basket (the grand prize) and I had her stuff in there. Luckily, I know the winner well (she's on the PTO) so I hope she really enjoys Alyssa's work! I have a couple of items too and I plan on getting to them soon..so stay tuned for a Vintage Body Spa review in the near future!

I also need to thank my good friend Susan over at Manor Hall Soap Company! She put together a wonderful gift basket of Lavender/Rose products including soaps, bath salts and more. It was such a great prize and quite a few people came up to ask me about it. Remember, all of Manor Halls products are ALL NATURAL!

Kim over at Yndigo Designs sent me a very nice pair of earrings. They also went in my Grand Prize Basket! She is a VP at her PTO, so she knows what I'm going thru lol. I truly appreciate the donation..and she knows it. I couldn't find a photo of the exact pair that she sent (probably one of a kind :-) ) but here's an example of her fine work!

Dawn, from Elements By Dawn, sent me two beautiful pieces of jewelry..well 3 actually. One was a pink crystals heart necklace and the other was an earring & necklace set with this beautiful floral design and purple crystals. Of course, I didn't take a picture of them..like the dork I am..but here's some of Dawn's work.
So, again, THANK YOU all for helping me out and making Bingo Night a success! I couldn't have done it without all of you!
